Automatic Vehicle Classifier

The Automatic Vehicle Classifier (AVC) is a system used to detect the type or category of vehicles passing on the road without any interaction from drivers or human observers.

Advantages of using the Automatic Vehicle Classifier (AVC):
Automatic detection of axle count and wheel count as vehicles pass by.
Scanning to determine the shape and length of vehicles.
Information is fed back immediately to the lane controller to determine the vehicle class and accurate toll calculation.
Toll collectors can reclassify if necessary. The frequency of reclassification by each toll collector must be monitored.
